Using the dialog box, select an image to open and click Open. The image will appear in the canvas viewer, and the Effects History and Layers panel will show that the new project has an original image layer. Making Adjustments Once you have an image opened, you can make adjustments by adding layers. Here are some easy examples to try: Rotating - To rotate the photo, add a rotate layer by clicking the Rotate button in the Edit tab on the toolbar. Then drag the rotate handle or use the properties panel located in the right sidebar. Brightness - To adjust the brightness of the photo, add a brightness adjustment layer by clicking on Brightness in the Color tab on the toolbar. With the new layer now selected, the slider in the properties panel can be moved toward Dark, or Bright. Note that the brightness effect will be applied to all layers listed below Brightness on the Layers list, not just to a single image. Other adjustments or special effect layers can be added in the same way. Simply click on the type of adjustment or special effect you want from the toolbar and a layer will be created. Adjust each layer's parameters in the properties panel. If you wish to remove a layer, click the X button for the layer in the Effects History and Layers panel. To learn more about layers, see the Concepts: Layers section of this manual.
